the ethnic cleansing begins
BLOOD, FLAMES, AND CHAOS ! Over 2 million people isolated from their homes and families. Nearly 200,000 innocent children were slaughtered. Arab militias supported by the government began policies of ethnic cleansing. Darfur's civilian populations, leaving hundreds of thousands dead and more than 2 million people emigrated from their original homeland. The was no safe haven this was their home, this became their day to day lives. The struggle for land and power in Darfur resulted into violence between Sudanese government forces and rebels protesting marginalization. After so many people and families were displaced villages were broken down and there was a battle for atonement.
el fadel arbab : I blame bashir
" I was the last child to escape the flames that ultimately consumed my home and many of my cousins. Unlike the hundreds of thousands who have perished in Darfur, I escaped. My family lost everything, and yet, we were among the lucky ones."
"I do not want to see other people suffer the way my tribe, the Fur tribe, suffered. I want to spare others the suffering that my community and my family has endured. " - El Fadel Arbab
El Fadel Arbab is a Darfur conflict survivor. After he escaped his burning house, the Janjaweed captured him and then threw him into another burning house. Wet and burned he ran and climbed a tree and hid there for days. El Fadel Arbab is working on bringing the president of Sudan, Omar Al-Bashir to justice in the International Criminal Courts. He blames Omar Al-Bashir for the Darfur conflict because he provided weapons and did not attempt to stop the uncontrollable violence.
More than 400 villages in southern Sudan were completely destroyed and millions of civilians were forced to flee their homes. Between 2003 and 2005, an estimated 300,000 to 400,000 people were killed, with millions displaced to refugee camps and countries throughout the world. Today, countless thousands are still missing and attacks continue. “The Sudanese government stated that it wants to see the land flat,” Arbab says. “Its goal is to kill all Darfuris by the end of 2011, even the animals.” Arbab learned English to share his story and to prevent this from happening to his homeland.

Is this really the end?
The environmental factors affected the country of Sudan.
Following the Janjaweed's attack, natives of Sudan were struggling for the resurection of their homes. The conflict in Darfur was complex caused by political, social, and environmental problems. The result was a humanitarian crisis affecting millions of people. The fury for territory and authority in the villages of Sudan followed a new "genocide". The administrative forces began the mass expulsion of the Non-Arabs and rebel groups. The disorder of the land damaged the country then and for years to come.
